Hey everyone!  I am new to OH, and I am so glad I have stumbled accross this site.  It was such a blessing.  Because of the site, and the information it has provided me, it looks as though WLS will be an option for me.

There is light at the end of this tunnel and the clouds have a silver lining.  I'm so glad I have found somewhere I can post my frustrations, progress and vent.  I am also happy there is a place where I feel like I am not  the only one who has struggled with the battle of obesity.

Thank you for this opportunity.  I look forward to getting to know people and hearing stories as well as sharing my own.

Peace!

Hi Erinn!

Welcome to the boards.  I am one of the girls Edie is talking about from  your neck of the woods.  I live in Midland.  Pam T. runs a Bay City support group and she is a great resource of knowledge and leader!  You should come to one of the support meetings....2nd Tuesday of every month.

OH is a great place to learn a lot of things about WLS!!

Welcome Erinn and Barbie,
The Michigan Board is the best out of the whole site. But, I'm a little prejudiced! The other boards are helpful, but I find the Michigan board the most welcoming, warm, supportive, and informative.
We will be there for your journey!!!

Welcome Erinn and Barble,
You'll find yourself becoming addicted to this site.  When I first came to OH I visited the RNY board and it has so many people I didn't feel the personal presence.  Then I happened upon the Michigan board and found I could really relate with these girls.  I've gone to the meeting that Pam T runs and really enjoyed it.  You should look into it Erinn.  I think Pam lives in Saginaw too.  Since I'm 'old' I also frequent the Over Fifty Forum.  We have many of the same 'health' problems there and I can relate with them too.  They're the two best forums here, in my opinion.
Glad you both found the site, and keep coming and asking questions.  Lots of good advise can be learned here.  Check out Eggface.com for good recipes too, and look at Pam T's blog.  She's a wealth of knowledge.

Welcome to the site Erinn!  It is such a wonderful wealth of information.  Be sure to check out all of the different surgery forums to get a really good picture of what is available to you.  I am so grateful to this site.  Without it, I know that I would have been discouraged and probably would have made the wrong choice or have chosen no surgery at all.

I read and read and read for many months before deciding what to do and I couldn't be happier.  I know that I was well prepared for surgery and life afterwards.  Plus I've made several good friends from the board that I know I'll be friends with for life.  I am nearly 7 months out and I am probably close to 100 pounds down (I haven't been home in a few weeks to weigh myself) so far.  There are so many inspirational stories to be found here... something will surely click for you.

Congrats on deciding to start your journey.  Good luck to you
